What Will My Camino Hold?

by Abby
(Bodega, CA)

Thank you so much for this. I have been pining to do the Camino do at least 5 years, and am finally going in late April. It is oddly difficult to understand, or explain why it is so important for me to go. I also wonder why it is so important for me to be selfish and go alone. I don't want to have to worry about anyone else. I feel slightly guilty about leaving many people who will miss me. I question whether it is just a 'bucket list ' item or trying to escape my life. Yet, I am so hoping for all those things you mention. Your words help me justify this journey at least to myself.

Good for You!
by: Elle Bieling, from PilgrrimageTraveler

Good for you, Abby to make your own way! I do not think you are selfish at all, but doing what your soul longs to do. The Camino is very personal, and though I have not yet done one by myself, it is my intention one day to do so! I am sure you have been worrying about others all your life, and this is YOUR time now! And embrace ALL your thoughts and feelings. None are good or bad, they are just what is in your heart and what helps you answer the call (IMHO). Ultreia!

Carbon Trekking Poles

Carbon fiber construction (not aluminum) in a trekking pole makes them ultra lightweight. We like the Z-Pole style from Black Diamond so we can hide our poles in our pack from potential thieves before getting to our albergue!
